La iniciativa público-privada que desarrollan conjuntamente Metaltec Naval y la Autoridad Portuaria de Santander, con un presupuesto de 55 millones de euros y que opta a los fondos europeos de recuperación, pretende impulsar la sostenibilidad y la intermodalidad con el apoyo del Gobierno autonómico cántabro.

En este sentido, los proyectos incluyen un conjunto de actuaciones con el nombre de ‘Bahía Zero’ en torno a la movilidad sostenible orientadas hacia el impulso de la intermodalidad y de líneas de transporte marítimo intraportuario de pasajeros y mercancías con embarcaciones sostenibles entre las poblaciones de la Bahía de Santander.

Logística de última milla

De igual modo, también se contemplan iniciativas para la logística de última milla que aúnan transporte marítimo sostenible y vehículos ligeros eléctricos para el transporte de paquetería en el área de la capital cántabra, así como la construcción de un Astillero 4.0 y la puesta en marcha de una planta fotovoltaica en el entorno de la bahía, entre otros, con la intención de la competitividad de la industria naval de la región.

En este mismo marco, Metaltec Naval tiene previsto poner en marcha entre esta primavera y el veranola primera embarcación electrosolar que conectará dos puntos de la Bahía de Santander, para ir incorporando después más ayuntamientos y más embarques y desembarques en la zona.
